Welcome to Our Practice!
We’re excited to get to meet you! In order to make your first visit most pleasant, please take a moment to read the following.
About Us
The Family Vet is a small single doctor practice open on Sundays by appointment only. While we’ve been working together since 1997, The Familly Vet opened in 2003. In 2020 we moved our practice from Long Beach to Costa Mesa, pared down services, and reduced hours of operation. (You can learn more about us here.) New clients are admitted by invitation only.

More About Our Practice
As we noted above, because our practice is limited to Sundays, we do not perform many procedures you may be accustomed to having done by your vetinary care team. This includes anesthesia procedures such as surgery and dentistry, and some diagnostic procedures such as radiography (x-rays). We see patients by appointment only, and we do not see emergency or urgent care cases. Clients are counseled on the need to retain an alternate vet for when these types of procedures or visits are necessary.
Our focus is to provide many basic wellness services including annual exams, with a focus on client education. Additionally, we counsel clients on the special needs of their older pets - many clients continue to see us as their primary vet throughout their pets’ lives, especially as their senior pets become in need of extra care and attention.
